FRONTIER Building Completes Wawa’s 200th Florida Store

Our client, FRONTIER Building has recently completed Wawa’s 200th Florida store in Naples. The experience-focused national contractor celebrated this major historical build with a grand opening event that took place last month. This milestone comes a little more than seven years after the Wawa brand launched into the Florida market, ahead of initial projections and schedules.
“As we reflect on our Florida journey, beginning with a single store in 2012 and now opening our 200th store in 2019, we are deeply grateful to our customers and associates who have made this expansion possible,” said Gheysens. “Thank you for supporting us over the past seven years. We can’t wait to see what the future of Wawa in Florida holds!”
Located at 12456 Tamiami Trail East at the Price Street Plaza, the brand-new convenience store and gas station now offers an additional fueling option for east and west bound drivers along U.S. 41.
The new 7,211 square foot convenience store is located on a 90,000 square foot lot and features eight fueling pumps and 55 parking spaces. FRONTIER’s Derek Hopkins was the onsite project manager overseeing the ground-up construction.
“FRONTIER is honored to have been selected to build out Wawa’s 200th Florida store,” said Hopkins. “Being based in Florida, we hope to continue to build for the national brand as it continues to expand its presence in the state.”
FRONTIER Building is currently building out another Wawa convenience store and gas station in North Miami, Florida. The Miami-based national firm also has two additional Wawa projects underway in Rosedale, Maryland and Manassas, Virginia.

CORE Design + Build Brings Luxury Modern Architecture to the Mid-Atlantic

7-23-18

Miami-based architecture firm, Choeff Levy Fischman, is taking its talents to the Mid-Atlantic with the collaboration of a new partnership with Maryland-based builder, Aaron Feivelson. The new venture, known as CORE Design + Build combines Choeff Levy Fischman’s award-winning, tailored environmental designs with Feivelson’s premier experiential home building services.

If Greater Baltimore is going to attract big money talent, the region needs to deliver on the kind of lifestyle many of those individuals look for.

For Aaron Feivelson, that lifestyle begins quite literally at home.

Feivelson has launched a new company in partnership with a Miami architecture firm to bring a new, modern style of high-end home design to the mid-Atlantic.

While the Baltimore area does have its share of luxury mansions and homes, they are overwhelmingly in the traditional style, Feivelson said. And there aren’t many examples of good modern design in the area, he said.

The firm, CORE Design + Build, specializes in an architectural style known as environmental modern, a sleek look focused on natural materials, sharp lines and open spaces. This type of home is made for a more forward-thinking client, one that is looking not only for a place to live, but a place that also serves as a work of art.

CORE is a collaboration between Feivelson, who is also president of homebuilding firm Sunfire Homes in Stevenson, and Ralph Choeff, founding principal of Choeff Levy Fischman Architecture + Design in Miami. The idea for environmental modern stems from the tropical modern style, which Choeff is well-known for.

Schüco USA has partnered with Al-Farooq Corporation to enter the South Florida market with the release of several products in 2018. Al-Farooq was contracted by the global building envelope specialist to test and approve the products to assure they meet South Florida’s high standards and regulations. The first product launched this month, an outward opening terrace door, is the first of its kind for the region. Al-Farooq Corporation is currently testing several other products for Schüco that should be released in South Florida later this year – just in time for hurricane season.

Al-Farooq Corporation, a Miami-based engineering consulting firm, is helping Schüco USA enter the South Florida market with the release of an outward opening terrace door, the Schüco AWS 75.SI+.

The global building envelope specialist has contracted the South Florida engineering firm to launch the product. Al-Farooq Corporation has tested and approved the product to assure it meets the rigorous standards and regulations for the hurricane market.

Ideal for South Florida’s rainy and windy seasonal climate, the terrace doors were designed for high-level water tightness.

The design consists of easy-access threshold options, which meets ADA half-inch threshold height limitations while also maintaining 15 PSF of water resistance test performance, far exceeding minimum requirements.

“It has been great to work with Schüco,” says Senior Engineer, Jalal Farooq. “Their team is knowledgeable, responsive, and their products are recognized around the world. We are pleased that they have chosen Al-Farooq Corporation to guide them to success in this hurricane market.”
